Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry
OCCI
Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) makes all
possible efforts to simulate the country's economic activity through its
active and continuous participation in implementing various development
plans aimed at diversifying the national income sources.
This is achieved by encouraging the private sector companies
and establishments to set up and execute industrial, agricultural and
commercial development projects. Since its inception by a Royal Decree
on 15th May 1973, OCCI has carried out several studies to highlight the
high yield economic activities, in order to enable the Omani private
sector to take them up, by providing it with necessary statistics,
information and consultancies on economic and commercial issues and by
minimizing the difficulties it faces. OCCI takes up the suggestions and
proposals of the private sector to the decision makers in the
government, through its memberships in various boards of directors of
the government authorities and high committees.
Within the frame work of its continued endeavor to serve and
support the national economy, OCCI organizes trade fairs and exhibitions
inside and outside the Sultanate, in an effort to promote and introduce
Omani products. The Chamber has a big role in the international level as
well, through its constant presence at the meeting of the joint chambers
and unions.
